If you haven’t heard yet, I will be moving to the middle school next year to be their media specialist. This was not a move that I requested, but money is tight and choices were made. I have enjoyed my time at WHS and will miss all of the wonderful students and teachers. We worked hard to make the library a fun and inviting place and I hope that it will remain so. Good luck and have a great summer.

I’ve always been a fan of Citation Machine since it’s simple and free. I just discovered NoodleBib Express, however, which is a free version of NoodleBib. It’s another approach that may or may not be easier for you. Give it a try if you wish.

What the Heck is a Primary Source?

I used to think the answer to this question was simple – a primary source is something written or created during the actual time of something being studied by someone with direct knowledge of the events. Turns out that is not really the best definition partly because it depends more on how something is used rather than how it was created that makes it a primary source. Rather than try to explain this myself, I’ll leave it up to Yale University.

New Book Club Forming

The WHS library is partnering with the Windsor/Severance public library to start a book club here at the high school. Our first meeting will be Feb 5th at 11:15 in the library. Free pizza will be provided if you know the password. Get an invitation in the library. Get extras and share with friends. This will be a student run club and we will choose leaders to organize events and fill out the all important paperwork to make us official. If you’re into books then be sure to join us.
